As you can see in above image, Google Pixel phone is powered by latest Android Nougat v7.1 mobile operating system with the integration of all new Google Virtual Assistant, which is the very unique kind of feature from Google for Android smartphones and tablets. Through Google Assistant built-in function, users can instantly get desired answers, manage daily tasks, get entertained, search photos and videos faster, find travel places etc.


The official Google Pixel phone hardware is based on 4G LTE, 3G and 2G technologies i.e. LTE/ EVDO / HSPA / CDMA / GSM. The body design of the Google Pixel is 143.8 x 69.5 x 8.5 mm and its weight is approx. 143 g, whereas Google Pixel XL weight is 168 g with body dimensions 154.7 x 75.7 x 8.5 mm. Both Pixel phones support Nano-SIM card with dust and splash resistant feature.

The display screen size Google Pixel is 5.0 inches (69% screen-to-body ratio) with display resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (441 ppi pixel density), whereas Google Pixel XL screen size is 5.5 inches (71% screen-to-body ratio) with display resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (534 ppi pixel density). Both devices has 16 Million colors and AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with the screen protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 4.0.

The processing, storage and memory hardware specs are same of both Pixel smartphone devices i.e. Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 chipset, CPU is Quad-core (2×2.15 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo), GPU is Adreno 530. The internal storage capacity is 32GB and 128GB with 4GB RAM, and there is no memory card slot available for expandable storage.

The primary camera of both Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones are similar and identical i.e. back camera is of 12 mega-pixel with some value added features and functions like f/2.0, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, laser autofocus, touch focus, phase detection, face detection, panorama, HDR, geo-tagging, 1.55µm pixel size and 1/2.3″ sensor size.

The secondary camera is also same of both devices i.e. front camera is 8 mega-pixels with features like 1080p image quality, 1.4 µm pixel size, 1/3.2″ sensor size, f/2.4. The video camera of Google pixel and pixel XL is powered by 720p@240fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps and 2160p@30fps HQ and HD qualities.

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL has active noise cancellation feature with dedicated mic, 3.5mm jack. For connectivity and communication, the phone has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac class with dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.2 with A2DP and LE, the device also got GPS support with A-GPS and GLONASS functions, NFC and a USB 3.0 with Type-C 1.0 reversible connector for fast charging.

Both pixel phones have several useful sensors, such as barometer, proximity, compass, accelerometer, gyro and fingerprint. If we talk about Google Pixel battery backup and capacity, it has Li-Ion 2770 mAh battery which is non-removable with stand-by time of up to 456 hours (on 3G), talk time upto 26 hours (on 3G) and music play upto 110 hours. Whereas Google Pixel XL battery backup and capacity is Li-Ion 3450 mAh battery which is also undetectable with stand-by time of up to 552 hours (on 3G), talk time upto 32 hours (on 3G) and music play upto 130 hours. The best thing is that both Pixel phones support Fast Charging feature. Which means you can easily get upto 7 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of battery charging.

Google Pixel Phone Release Date and Availability

Google’s first virtual assistant smartphones are expected to be released on October 20, 2016 to general public worldwide. You can buy and pre-order Pixel phones online through Google Store.

The official price of Google Pixel Unlocked entry-level phone in the United States starts from USD $649 for 32GB and USD $749 for 128GB. The official Google Pixel XL Unlocked price in USA starts from USD $769 for 32GB and USD $869 for 128GB.

Customers can pre-order online to buy Google Pixel from US, UK, Canada. Australia and India. Consumers of Verizon, Project Fi, and Best Buy can also order online.
